Global commodities company Vitol said Thursday that it has started a new bunkering operation in Nigerian waters with PPPFM, Platts reports.

Nigeria’s PPPFM is fully licensed by that country’s Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), according to Vitol. “Bunkers are supplied to clients utilizing PPPFM’s bunkering vessels/barges with all operations protected by the Secure Anchorage Area team, who have provided maritime clients with 100% successful 24/7 security throughout West Africa since May 2013,” it said.

A Vitol spokeswoman said PPPFM has two barges to supply marine fuels under the partnership, of 8,000 dwt and 3,000 dwt respectively. The grades available are RMG 380 CST fuel oil and gasoil DMA.
