The Interim Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mr Usman Gur Mohammed, has said a new Free Governor Control Action (FGCA) mode deployed by the Generation Companies (GenCos) has stabilised the national grid, Daily Trust reports.

He said with the deployment and effective operation of the generating units on FGCA mode since May 22 by the GenCos, the system frequency stabilised at operational limits of 49.50 – 50.50Hertz (Hz).

Mohammed said TCN and GenCos’ collaboration through the mechanism would also mitigate the negative effects of load under-utilisation. He assured that TCN’s management was committed and determined to work with other key stakeholders in the power sector towards providing more quality electricity supply to the people.
