Governors in the southeast zone yesterday resolved to look into the challenges in the power sector with a view to assisting the operators solve the problem, The Guardian reports.

To this end, the governors have interacted with Geometrics Power Limited, Aba as well as slated a future date with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC). Chairman of the forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, disclosed at the end of their meeting in Enugu yesterday that power was vital to the economic development of the zone, stressing that something urgent must be done to tackle the epileptic supplies.

Umahi said that the meeting was effectively about the economic agenda for the southeast including the economic integration of the states and certain other projects in the zone like the railway and seaports, stressing necessary step forward had been taken to ensure that the matter was handled by the economic team of the forum.
