Sonatrach and Eni sign pact for marketing of dry gas from Zemoul El Kbar, Algeria

In Algeria, the public hydrocarbon company (Sonatrach) signed with the Italian giant Eni a long-term delivery agreement for the dry gas produced on the license for Zemoul El Kbar in block 403. The contract relates to a fixed volume of 500 million cubic meters of gas which will be shipped per year until 2042.

The fuel will be transported via the new Eni gas pipeline built in the Berkine basin and connecting the fields of Bir Rebaa Nord (BRN) and Menzel Ledjmet in south-eastern Algeria. It will then be processed in Menzel Ledjmet’s (MLE) gas installations, before being delivered to the market.

No further details have been released.

In 2016, the two companies had signed agreements for the extension of production licenses on satellite fields and three production fields located in block 403. The agreement between the two parties thus paved the way for the implementation implementing advanced techniques for better extraction of hydrocarbons from the area.
