Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) said it has booked a firm order to supply turbines for the 301-MW Boujdour wind project in Morocco.

The project is the fruit of a consortium between Moroccan energy group Nareva Holding, Italy’s Enel Green Power and Siemens Gamesa’s predecessor, now defunct turbine maker Siemens Wind Power.

The consortium secured a 850-MW wind power package, made up of five projects including Boujdour, in a 2016 tender.

As part of the Boujdour order, Siemens Gamesa will supply, install, commission and test 87 units of SG 3.4-132 turbines and service the machines under a five-year agreement.

The partners expect to commission the wind farm in the third quarter of the financial year 2022, the turbine maker said.
