On March 2nd, 2020, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in collaboration with the World Bank, held the 2nd Stakeholders consultation forum for EEP Phase II themed “towards sustainable project implementation” under the Energizing Education Programme (EEP), a component of the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) in Abuja, Nigeria.
The main objective of the forum is to provide status update, execution of contracts meeting to project beneficiaries, present on all activities that have been carried out, and ongoing towards implementing the EEP Phase II projects and lessons learnt from phase 1, to help strengthen the case for extension and sustainability of the Programme to the remaining universities and other institutions of learning.
In his opening remarks the MD/CEO REA, Ahmad Salihijo commended the great work of NEP and declared total commitment in ensuring adequate support for the EEP. The MD/CEO encouraged workshop participants to be interactive, to ask questions, fully participate thereby, reiterating that REA is here to facilitate and ensure the successful implementation of the EEP Phase II project.
Presentations were made through the course of this forum, to provide project beneficiaries with all the necessary information they need in order to establish effective partnerships between the beneficiary institutions of EEP Phase 2, NUC, the REA and the World Bank. These partnerships are required for the successful implementation of sustainable EEP Phase 2 project.
