The Chairman of the agency’s board, Senator Jonathan Zwingina, disclosed this yesterday while receiving the Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria, Amb. Uriel Palti who paid a courtesy visit to REA corporate headquarters.
Zwingina noted that the visit of Amb. Palti to the agency will strengthen the existing cordial relationship between both countries, adding that, “this will open the window of mutual benefit in areas of technical support to the agency.”
He maintained that within the little time of the agency’s existence, it has articulated a strategy for rural electricity that is receiving approvals, and has completed several on-grid and solar systems projects in various rural areas including the reinforcement of electricity networking in a number of rural communities.
Zwingina who said that electricity is critical to the development of the economy of nations said, “the agency is poised to drive the rural economy through deliberate and concerted rural electrification projects and programmes.”
