Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the Federal Government is committed to solving the power problem in the country. Osinbajo told the 9th Presidential Quarterly Business Forum on Monday in Abuja that the government would review the previous power privatisation programme in order to enhance the capacity of business people by boosting power supply.
He said that the government had spent N1.7 trillion in capital investment in two budget years and that infrastructure development was crucial in economic growth and job creation. Osinbajo said that the government was investing in infrastructure and that the government had invested more in infrastructure today than any previous governments in history.
“We have spent so far in two budgets, N1.7 trillion in capital investment that is the largest in the history of the country despite earning 60 percent less; we are doing far more with far less resources,” he said.
