As leading energy providers jostle to increase market penetration by opening several outlets to be nearer to the consumers, Nigeria’s leading integrated energy solutions company, Oando Marketing Plc, has set a target to open about 50 mega service delivery stations by 2018.
Besides, the company, whose efforts at setting standards in service delivery now serve as the benchmark to competitors in the market space has said as an important player in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry it is keen to ensure that petroleum products get to customers removing location barrier to reaching them.
With a plan to build 10 mega stations every year within the next five years across major cities in Nigeria, the company has said it would ensure that Nigerians enjoy adequate supply of petroleum products close to their homes and at affordable prices, will culminate in 50 mega stations by 2018.
The Chief Executive Officer, Oando Plc, Mr. Abayomi Awobokun said, “Awolowo Road One, is part of our on-going mega station roll out strategy to show our leadership position in the downstream sector. It is also to confirm that we keep to our promise in making petroleum products available to our buying public with ease.”
Also, the Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Olaposi Williams, who explained that Oando will never compromise on its drive for excellences, said the company’s drive for excellence is derived from a deeply rooted passion to succeed in a highly competitive market.
“This passion continues to build confidence in our customers who know that we put them first at all times and will continually strive to satisfy them,” she added.
While condemning the pervasive practice of under dispensing at some filling stations in the country, Williams said, the quality of service at Oando filling stations nationwide is consistent at every contact with customers.
She said, “We have our monitoring team that goes to our outlets daily to check. Any dealer caught in such act loses his or her contract with us.
We do not condone such act. We tell them every day and it is also stated in the agreement we signed with them. Nothing will make us to compromise our stations’ integrity.
This is in line with our vision to have a quality station. If such station does not meet our standard we seal it up.” The energy marketing company has constructed and opened a state-of-the-art mega stations in both Lekki and Ojodu-Berger areas of Lagos.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is also home to two other mega stations on both Herbert Macaulay and Mabushi in Abuja. As part of the plan, Oando Marketing recently upgraded a retail station into a mega station for its teeming customers on the high-brow Obafemi Awolowo Road 1 in Ikoyi area of Lagos.
