AbouWafa listed some of the benefits of using gas engines over diesel generators to include compliance with environmental regulations and laws of emissions, cheaper running costs and lower costs of power in kw/hr when analyzed for a sufficiently long period of usage.

He listed others advantages to include longer maintenance intervals, lower cumulative maintenance/overhaul costs and longer lifespan.
