A security source, who confided in National Mirror, alleged that Ebi was once arrested early in the year over involvement in the ownership of an unlicensed vessel along Akassa Waterways.

The source, who is an official of the Joint Task Force (JTF), said details of Ebi’s arrest were being expected to facilitate his prosecution.

He said: “The lawyer and the three other persons were arrested at an area known as Outside Bar in Lekki Area of Lagos State while negotiating the transfer of the stolen AGO to a buyer. They had successfully moved the vessel from the Bayelsa waters into the Lagos axis. The surveillance team was detailed to allow negotiation for sales commence before their arrest.
