The Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Olawale Oluwo, during a meeting with stakeholders in his office at Alausa has said the state government is committed to developing a comprehensive and robust energy policy that will take the state to the next level, especially in terms of social amenities provision for the citizenry, The Punch reports.

He said, “Government’s drive for robust social amenities for citizens of the state forms the basis for the intense street lighting project, community electrification and solar power system for schools and primary health centres with its visible impact on health care services, security, tourism, night life and overall economy of the state.”

Oluwo said the series of activities recently initiated by the government for a virile oil and gas sector in the state involved information and data gathering of oil and gas facilities, infrastructural development, gas master plan as well as operational guidelines and codes for gas reticulation systems.
