The Managing Director, Kano Electricity Distribution Company, Dr Jamilu Gwamna, has appealed to power consumers to exercise a little more patience as the firm is doing everything possible to complete the ongoing repairs on faulty transformers.
He assured the customers that power supply would greatly improve as soon as the repairs, which he noted had reached an advanced stage, were completed.
Gwamna said this in an interview with journalists in Kano on Tuesday while responding to a Save our Soul message sent by electricity consumers within the Kano distribution area.
He expressed sadness that the unfortunate situation was threatening the cordial relationship the company was enjoying with its customers, noting that nothing was being left to chance in a bid to resolve the problem.
Gwamna said, “It has come to the level that we have to beg our customers, who are affected by the faulty transformers, because we don’t want anything to dent our relationship with our customers as it is tilting towards.
“Our customers have been good and faithful in the payment of their bills. The truth is that we didn’t cause this and we don’t pray it continues this way, but I assure our customers that better days await them in terms of power delivery as soon as the transformers are fixed.
“We are aware that some of our customers are not happy, especially those who are directly affected. But I can assure you that the Transmission Company of Nigeria and KEDCO are working to get things back on. So, let the customers exercise patience.”
