The Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company, Alhaji Jamil Gwamna, has said inadequate power generation from the national grid is hindering the firm’s efforts to distribute power to consumers.

Gwamna also expressed displeasure over the non-payment of electricity bills by some customers which he said had negatively affected the revenue generation drive of the firm. He said at the 2018 Marketing Conference in Kano that the firm had been operating at a loss.

He, however, said that despite the challenges, KEDCO had been able to wax stronger in terms of service delivery, as the numbers of hours of electricity supply to customers had greatly increased in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.
