Dakuku, who spoke in a paper titled “Is Kerosene Really for The Masses’, presented at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Lagos, expressed regretted that the product has not trickled down to the downtrodden in spite of the sum of N634 billion subsidy the federal government spent on same in the past three years. He said the subsidy on the product in 2010 gulped N110,068,533,988, in 2011 it fetched the sum of N324,089,961,319, while the federal government spent over N200 billion to subsidize the product last year.
