Eni seeks rig for Mozambique operations

Italy’s Eni is in the market for a deep-water drillship for wildcatting operations in the frontier Angoche basin off Mozambique.

Expressions of interest were submitted this week covering a drillship to be deployed on Eni’s A5-A licence, which it secured in October 2018.

Eni plans to spud the first exploration probe in the first quarter of 2020 and is on the lookout for a drillship for one firm well, with options for two more.
