Egypt wants to boost its production of hydrocarbons. President Al-Sisi therefore pampers Eni, one of the key players in production in recent years in the country. Cairo guarantees him unfailing support to do even better in the years to come.
On August 30, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Italian oil company Eni, in Cairo to discuss the strategy for increasing cooperation between the two parties.
Al-Sisi was delighted with the cooperation between Egypt and Eni, and expressed support for the continued increase in the company’s investments in upstream oil. He promised to remove all obstacles that she might encounter in carrying out her activities.
For his part, Descalzi expressed his gratitude and gratitude for Egypt’s support to Italy during the coronavirus pandemic. He also praised the precautionary measures successfully taken by the government in connection with the various oil and gas production projects in Egypt.
Eni is one of the largest producers of natural gas in Egypt. In particular, she discovered the most important gas fields in this country in recent years, particularly that of Zohr in 2015.
