Energy Institute launches “Young Professionals Network” and celebrates centenary

Young Professionals Network Launch

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) officially launched on the 24th January 2015 at the Eko Hotel, Lagos Nigeria. The event had in attendance a mix of the YPN members, selected students from Nigerian universities and mentors who are also Energy Institute members.

The event started with a welcome speech from Mr Glen Ensor, the Managing Director PennWell, and also featured a presentation on the topic “BRIDGING THE ACADEMIA AND THE INDUSTRY TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN ENGINEERING WITHIN NIGERIA & AFRICA”, a video documentarty on “DEEPWATER OFFSHORE PROJECT” courtesy of Shell and a Membership Workshop by the Managing Director Energy Institute Nigeria.

We thank the speakers who graced this occasion; Mr Henry Ogufere (Chartered MCIPD Human Resources Manager, Total), Mr Henry Ehondor (JV Facilities Engineer, Chevron) and Mr John A. Asika MBA, MIChemE, CEng (Intergrated Consulting & Engineering Nigeria Ltd)

Centenary Celebration

As part of the Energy Institute’s Centenary Celebration, the Nigeria Branch hosted a cocktail reception shortly after the Young Professionals Network (YPN) Launch at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.

A congratulatory message from the CEO Energy Institute was played for delegates at the event. The Chairman Energy Institute, Nigeria Branch was also in attendance to support and network with attendees.
