Chinese wind energy company mulls Zambia investments

A Chinese company, dealing in wind-turbines technology and energy solutions, has expressed interest in investing in Zambia to help diversify the energy sector in line with the Government’s agenda.

Goldwind Company general manager for Africa region Zhou Jianqing said the company was ready to establish wind-energy projects to generate electricity to help mitigate the current national power deficit.

Mr Zhou said that diversifying the energy sector was a valuable measure to address the power deficit that countries like Zambia were faced with because the wind energy was a fast, clean and cheap resource.
