BPE tasks Kano DisCo on intensifying energy conservation campaigns

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has tasked Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) on the need to intensify its energy conservation campaigns among electricity users, Daily Trust reports.

The Deputy Director, Post-Privatisation Monitoring Department, Balogun Omotunde Olayinka who led the BPE team to the DisCo recently also said, “You will need to continue sensitising members of the public about the electricity value chain in your weekly community engagement exercise; let them know you only distribute electricity and not generating or transmitting.”

 A statement from the DisCo’s spokesman, Mohammed Kandi said BPE’s Acting Director-General, Dr Vincent Onome Akpotaire who was represented by Olayinka commended KEDCO for the steps it had taken to reduce the Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collections Loss (ATC&C).
