Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) Plc on June 30th, 2017 signed a contract with MOJEC for the supply of 60,000 pieces of Maximum Demand, Three Phase and Single Phase prepaid meters, IWIN reports.

While speaking at the signing ceremony, AEDC MD/CEO – Engr. Ernest Mupwaya said metering will help DisCos to reduce the losses incurred through under-billing and theft of energy and would increase the transparency of the billing process thereby increasing the willingness of customers to pay their bills.

Mupwaya also added that, “By signing this contract for the procurement of 60,000 meters with MOJEC, which is a local company, AEDC Plc would have made provision for 90,000 meters for 2017, as procurement of 30,000 has already been concluded for supply.”
