7 Eni workers freed in Bayelsa

Nigeria‘s Joint Military Taskforce (JTF) has announced it freed seven kidnapped Nigerian Agip Oil Company workers, local media reported Friday.

The JTF also said it destroyed 436 illegal refineries as part of its Operation Delta Safe mission, Vanguard reported.

“Seven Nigerian Agip Oil Company maintenance workers kidnapped while carrying out an assessment of a blasted wellhead in Azuama in Southern Ijaw, [a] local government of Bayelsa, were rescued and released,” Brigadier-General John Agim, acting director of defence information, said.

Nigerian Agip Oil Company is one of Eni’s local branches in the country.
