In Côte d’Ivoire, 411 localities were electrified during the first half of 2020. This figure was communicated by Abdourahmane Cissé (photo), the Ivorian Minister of Energy. “  The well-being of populations is at the heart of the concerns of President Alassane Ouattara and the government of Côte d’Ivoire . Thus, at the end of 2025, we expect a coverage rate of 100% of all localities in Côte d’Ivoire,  ”said the official.

The minister also announced that the national electrification rate fell from 69% at the end of 2019 to 73.6% at the end of June 2020. 7 million citizens subscribed to the social bracket recently benefited from a 20% reduction in their tariff electric.

It should be remembered that the country has set itself the objective of electrifying 80% of its populations by the end of 2020. It intends to rely for this on the “Electricity for all” program which has enabled more than 884,000 households, including 319 000 between January 2019 and June 2020, to have access to electricity from $ 1.71.
