Six companies, including GE, are vying for the construction of the Al-Fula Thermal Power Plant in Sudan. The plant will be a dual cycle thermal power plant that will use both gas and petroleum products from the region.
The plant will have a capacity of 450 MW. Its construction is part of the government’s electricity policy which aims to connect all the country’s states to the electricity grid, mainly those in the Darfur region.
Besides GE, Chinese companies Harbin and Orjaina, Turkish company Shellik as well as Assauer and CBI have submitted their offers in response to the call for tenders issued by the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation and of Electricity, according to the Sudan News Agency.
